Historic record for RTVE News: they close the season with their biggest year-on-year growth

The different editions of Telediario averaged a 14.6% share and 1,477,000 viewers during the 2025/2026 season, while in June they reached 15.4%, their highest year-on-year growth to date

The News Services of RTVE have closed the 2025/2026 season with the best growth figures in their history. The different editions of Telediario registered an average of 14.6% screen share and 1,477,000 viewers, which represents an increase of 2.5 points compared to the previous season and the largest year-on-year advance achieved so far by the public broadcaster's news programs.

The data also reflect a particularly positive evolution in June. During the past month, TVE's news programs reached a 15.4% screen share and an average of 1,430,000 viewers, improving June 2025 figures by 3.2 points and marking the largest year-on-year growth in their history.

Telediario 1, presented by Alejandra Herranz, closed the season with a 15.7% screen share and an average of 1,450,000 viewers. The news program increased its result by 3.3 points compared to the previous year, the largest rise in its trajectory, and obtained its best data since the 2017/2018 season. In June it registered a 14.7% share and 1,364,000 viewers, 2.1 points more than a year earlier, also marking its best June since 2018.

Also Telediario 2, hosted by Pepa Bueno, completed its best season in the last 14 years. The program reached an average of 14% screen share and 1,550,000 viewers, with a growth of 2.2 points, the largest in its history. In June it improved to 16.3% share and 1,558,000 viewers, 4.9 points more than in the same month of 2025, achieving its best June data since 2011.

Telediario Matinal, presented by Álex Barreiro and Mireia Alzuria, was another of the season's standout programs. The news program led the mornings among generalist channels with a 21.8% screen share, 2.5 points above the previous year and its best result in the last five seasons. In June it consolidated that leadership with a 23.2% share, after growing 3.9 year-on-year points, reaching its best record for that month since 2003.

The Telediarios Fin de Semana also closed the year with outstanding results. The first edition, presented by Lourdes Maldonado and Marc Sala, obtained a 15% screen share and an average of 1,356,000 viewers, with a rise of 2.3 points, the largest in its history. In June it reached a 14.6% share and 1,278,000 viewers, two points above the same month of the previous year.

For its part, the second weekend edition registered its best result in 14 seasons, with an average of 1,509,000 viewers and a 13.6% audience share. In addition, it revalidated its leadership for the third consecutive season. In June, it achieved a 15.8% share and 1,474,000 viewers, its best data for that month since 2024.

The Regional News also experienced positive evolution. The first edition closed the season with a 13.3% audience share, its best result in 15 seasons and the largest historical growth between courses, adding 5.5 points. In addition, it led against regional channels in Andalusia (11.5%), Asturias (14.4%), Balearic Islands (12.2%), Castilla-La Mancha (11.4%), Castilla y León (11.8%), Basque Country (17.8%), Madrid (17.9%), Murcia (9%), Comunitat Valenciana (13.6%) and Navarra (20.7%).

In June, that first edition reached a 13% share, its best data for that month since 2011 and a growth of 3.4 points compared to the previous year, the largest registered in a June. It also placed ahead of regional channels in Andalusia (11.6%), Asturias (13.6%), Balearic Islands (10.8%), Castilla-La Mancha (9.8%), Castilla y León (12.7%), Basque Country (17.2%), Madrid (15.6%), Murcia (8.9%), Comunitat Valenciana (12.3%) and Navarra (20%).

The second edition of the Regional News obtained a 12% share during the season, its best historical result and a growth of 2.2 points compared to the previous course, also reaching its best data since the 2018/2019 season. In June, it achieved an 11.9% share, the best record for that month since 2018 and the largest growth in its history.

Among non-daily news programs, Informe Semanal closed the season with a 10.4% share, improving 1.4 points and achieving its best data since the 2010/2011 season. Audiencia Abierta, for its part, reached an 11% share and achieved the best season in its history. In June, Informe Semanal equaled its best data for that month in the last fifteen years with a 10.8% share and 871,000 viewers, while Audiencia Abierta registered its best historical share in June with an 11.5% and an average of 251,000 viewers.

The Canal 24 Horas also closed the season with record figures. The news channel reached a 1.3% audience share, as it did this June.

La noche en 24 horas closed the season with a 2.5% audience share, the best figure in its history. In addition, during the month of June, the program hosted by Xabier Fortes reached an average of 2.4% share, the best historical record for the show in that month.

For its part, Fin de Semana 24 horas, presented by Igor Gómez on La 1 and Canal 24 Horas, obtained an 18.8% audience share, its best result of the season after increasing its audience by 2.3 points. In June, the program improved by 5.3 points compared to the same month last year and set a historical record for that period with a 21.2% share and 263,000 viewers.
