Jokin Castellón responds to the PP deputy's speech, defending being gay and right-wing with forcefulness: "We must be assertive and shout more"

After the appearance in the Congress this past Thursday, June 25, of the PP deputy, Jaime de los Santos, where he tried to vindicate his homosexuality with his militancy in the Popular Party, Joaquín Castellón, has spoken out. The presenter of 'La Sexta Clave' has responded to de los Santos' words with forcefulness.

The PP deputy, during his turn to speak, exclaimed: "I am from the PP, I am a faggot and I am very proud of both things." He also wanted to add to his speech a thank you, "to all that free men and women of all conditions have done for me." These words have been picked up by Joaquín Castellón in his program, responding with an ironic and critical tone: "Who could those free men and women have been." The journalist continues his response with irony and asking: "Can one be LGTBIQ+ and right-wing?"

Following the same line, the presenter went on to warn that: "The PP must get out of that past in which they have fought against equal marriage with all their strength, and against equality." He has also criticized the current PP saying that: "The current PP is still in those apples and pears and pacts with Vox," adds Joaquín.

In this review of Casrellón's reproaches, he also wanted to add some of the PP's actions: "It cuts the trans law wherever it can," it is ashamed of rainbow flags in city councils, and at one point even proposed sending Pride to the Casa de Campo." He also highlighted the contradiction of the PP deputy, in his applauded speech, after his parliamentary group subsequently voted against toughening the law against conversion therapies.

Finally, he ended his response speech, adding that: "The defense of these rights has always been banners led by the left," and concluding with a final message: "One must be demanding and one must shout more, because there is still much to advance and one cannot go backwards."
