Alberto González Amador has put up for sale for 1,790,000 euros the apartment in Chamberí where he lives with Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The announcement appeared after Planifica Madrid, the public company dependent on the regional Government, bought another luxury penthouse last April 14 to hold institutional meetings during the renovation of the Real Casa de Correos.
The private operation was exclusively reported this Thursday by 'El Plural', which identified the property using registry data, the characteristics of the property, and photographs disseminated by real estate portals. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Ayuso's Chief of Staff, confirmed to the newspaper that the property is for sale.
The house belongs to González Amador, although it constitutes the usual residence he shares with the Madrid president. The businessman bought it in July 2022 for 850,000 euros and signed a mortgage for 500,000. The price requested now is 940,000 euros more and an increase of 110.6% over the amount paid four years ago.

It is, for the moment, an asking price and not a closed sale. The figure acquires special relevance after Ayuso defended in March 2024 that "it is not a million-euro apartment" when questions about her partner's real estate assets began. The property is now advertised for an amount close to 1.8 million.
The investigation by 'El Plural' places the market launch after the acquisition of the institutional penthouse. Rodríguez maintains that both operations are unrelated and assures that Ayuso and González Amador have been "three or four months" looking for a solution for their home. This period places the start of the negotiations around the same months in which Planifica Madrid bought the property provisionally intended for the president's activity.
The advertisement offers up to 48 photographs and videos of the interior. The 'Gilmar' listing describes a renovated home of 211 square meters built, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a ten-meter terrace. The images also show a living room, an office, a spacious dressing room, and various personal items.

Among them appear photographs of Ayuso and González Amador and an aviation diploma in the businessman's name. These elements, together with the surface area, location, and distribution recorded in the Property Registry, have made it possible to identify the property as the couple's residence.

A purchase linked to the years under investigation
The acquisition was formalized on July 27, 2022, shortly after the sharp increase in income recorded by González Amador during the pandemic. The businessman collected close to two million euros for mediating in a mask purchase and sale operation in 2020, when he already maintained professional relations with the Quirón group.
The Tax Agency subsequently concluded that his companies had defrauded 350,951 euros in corporate tax in 2020 and 2021. The accusation maintains that he used false invoices and shell companies to artificially reduce declared profits. González Amador is prosecuted and awaiting trial for two alleged tax crimes and document forgery.
There is also another investigation into his businesses with Quirón and the mask operation. This part examines possible crimes of corruption in business and disloyal administration, in addition to the purchase for 500,000 euros of a company belonging to the wife of Fernando Camino, president of Quirón Prevención.
The price paid for the apartment also raised doubts from the outset. The 850,000 euros notarized were below some market estimates, although the mortgage appraisal valued the property at 837,893 euros. González Amador contributed 350,000 euros and financed the rest through the mortgage.

A year later, the second home located directly above appeared. The penthouse was initially acquired by Babia Capital, a company managed by Javier Gómez Fidalgo, the tax specialist who had represented González Amador during the Treasury inspection and who also ended up being investigated in the case.
González Amador explained to the Justice that he paid 5,000 euros monthly for that penthouse through a rent-to-own agreement. In 2025, he finally formalized its acquisition with the help of a 600,000 euro mortgage. The two homes total around 360 square meters in one of the most expensive districts of Madrid.
The public penthouse that unleashed the storm
The sale of the private residence is known amidst controversy over another property in Chamberí. Planifica Madrid bought on April 14 a penthouse of about 481 square meters, almost 200 of them corresponding to a terrace, located on Paseo del General Martínez Campos.
The operation was not included in the public company's annual budget nor had it been disclosed on its transparency portal. The regional government explained, after 'El País' revealed the purchase, that the space would be used for meetings while the Real Casa de Correos is being renovated.
Ayuso denied that it was an official residence and denounced a "smear campaign" in the midst of the crisis caused by forest fires. "It's not my house, it's not for me, I haven't bought anything," she declared before defending the need to temporarily have another institutional space.
The property only has a residential use license and the Community of Madrid had not requested the necessary change from the City Council to convert it into an office. The exact purchase price remains unknown, although real estate estimates place the market value of a property with these characteristics close to six million euros.
Less than 24 hours after defending the operation, the regional government has announced its sale. The Minister of Presidency, Miguel Ángel García Martín, gave instructions to dispose of the penthouse and four other properties located on Gran Vía. The Executive estimates that the five properties can bring in around 20 million euros, which it promises to allocate to the reconstruction of the towns affected by the fires.
While Planifica Madrid prepares this divestment, the private apartment where Ayuso and González Amador live remains advertised for 1,790,000 euros. The requested price exceeds by 940,000 euros the one that was formalized when the businessman bought it in 2022.
