The former Minister of Culture of the Generalitat, Lluís Puig (Junts), will return this Wednesday to Catalonia after having lived nine years outside of Spain due to 1-O, and plans to attend the plenary session of the Parliament on Thursday, according to sources consulted by Europa Press.
Puig will return after judge Pablo Llarena definitively lifted the arrest warrant against him, the former president of the Generalitat and leader of Junts, Carles Puigdemont, and also former minister and elected MEP for Junts Toni Comín.
First stop in Terrassa and attendance at the plenary session
It is expected that the first thing Lluís Puig will do this Wednesday is go to his city, Terrassa (Barcelona), to participate in an event in front of the city council, and on Thursday he wants to go to the Parliament, where the Chamber holds a plenary session from this Tuesday until Thursday.
Puig is a deputy in the Parliament and, with his return, will be able to attend plenary sessions in person, instead of exercising his vote by delegation.
He has been in Catalonia on several occasions
Despite his return, the former minister recently revealed that he has been in Catalonia on several occasions during the nine years he has lived outside of Spain after 1-O, and assured that he had set foot on "lands of Ripollès, Garrotxa and Empordà, but discreetly".
Puig, before Comín and Puigdemont
Puig will thus return to Catalonia before Toni Comín, who will do so on Thursday when he travels to Madrid to abide by the Constitution and be able to be an MEP, and on Sunday he will go on a walking excursion, and before Carles Puigdemont, whose return is expected after the general elections on November 29.
