The president of the Popular Party of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has called a joint meeting of the Executive Committee and the Regional Steering Committee for next Monday, March 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the party's headquarters on Génova street. The call comes a week after ElConstitucional.es published an investigation that pointed to a growing discomfort within the Madrid organization due to internal appointments and the functioning of the territorial apparatus.
According to that work, various party officials criticized the “finger-selections” in the structure of the PP of Madrid and demanded that the internal bodies meet to debate the situation and comply with the statutory norms. Among those complaints also figured the lack of calls of the Regional Executive Board for months.
The statutes of the PP of Madrid establish that this body must meet at least once every four months. The last meeting took place on September 29, 2025, so the next one should have been held, at the latest, by the end of January 2026. Finally, the party leadership has now scheduled a joint meeting of the main internal bodies for March 16.
