Ayuso's partner also puts the controversial Chamberí penthouse up for sale and asks for 3.42 million for the two homes

Alberto González Amador has also put up for sale the Chamberí penthouse he has shared for the last few years with Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The partner of the Madrid president is asking 1,630,000 euros for the property located just above the apartment where they both reside, which continues to be advertised for another 1,790,000 euros.

The two prices raise the starting value of the homes González Amador owns on the sixth and seventh floors of the same building to 3,420,000 euros. The new operation, reported this Friday by 'El País', comes just 24 hours after 'El Plural' published the sale of the lower apartment.

The ad published on 'Idealista' presents a penthouse of 206 square meters built, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a terrace of about 30 meters, and a garage space. It is on a seventh exterior floor, has a west orientation, and needs renovations, according to the real estate agency itself.

From rent to purchase

The penthouse occupies a central place in the controversy over the homes of Ayuso and González Amador. The businessman bought the lower apartment in July 2022 for 850,000 euros, with a down payment of 350,000 and a mortgage of 500,000. A year later, the company Babia Capital acquired the seventh floor for 950,000 euros.

The first purchase occurred after the alleged fraud of 350,951 euros committed in the fiscal years 2020 and 2021, according to the investigation by the Tax Agency. González Amador is awaiting trial for two alleged tax crimes and document forgery after allegedly using false invoices to reduce the declared profits of his companies.

Babia Capital was managed by Javier Gómez Fidalgo, the tax specialist who represented González Amador during the Treasury inspection and who also ended up being investigated in the procedure. The company paid 870,000 euros for the penthouse and another 70,000 for the elements linked to the property.

González Amador explained to the judge in April 2025 that he paid 5,000 euros monthly for a rent-to-own option. According to his version, Gómez Fidalgo did him the "favor" of acquiring the property because at that time he lacked sufficient funds to buy it.

The tax advisor later denied that it was a personal concession and presented the operation as a real estate business with which its investors sought to obtain a 12% return. González Amador finally exercised the purchase option in 2025 and formalized a mortgage of 600,000 euros with Caja Rural de Zamora. The total value of that acquisition was placed by sources of the operation above one million euros.

The existence of the seventh floor came to light in March 2024, a few days after the tax investigation against the businessman became known. Ayuso then responded with irony when a journalist asked about the property. "Luxury? You have to die laughing with you," said the Madrid president.

For months, the Community of Madrid merely stated that Ayuso did not pay rent for either of the two homes. The full explanation came more than a year later, when González Amador revealed the 5,000 euro monthly contract and the right to purchase that he ended up exercising.

Three penthouses hit the market

The two private sales coincide with the decision of the Madrid government to sell another luxury penthouse acquired in Chamberí with public money. Planifica Madrid bought on April 14 an property of about 485 square meters on Paseo del General Martínez Campos to provisionally move the activity of the Presidency during the works of the Real Casa de Correos.

The operation remained outside the known budget of the public company and came to light when it was already closed. Ayuso's government initially defended that the space would serve for institutional meetings, although urban planning regulations prevent installing an administrative office on that floor as the property maintains an exclusively residential use.

After several days of controversy, the regional Executive announced that it will sell the penthouse again along with other public properties. The Community estimates that the operations will allow obtaining about 20 million euros and assures that it will allocate the income to the reconstruction of the areas affected by the fires.

Sources close to Ayuso assure that the private operations have no relation to the purchase and subsequent sale of the public property. González Amador now has his two properties advertised for 3.42 million euros, while Planifica Madrid prepares the market launch of the penthouse he bought just over three months ago for the president's activity.
