The second league matchday is already here with new great matches and with the league start of Madrid and Barça

This same Thursday, the second day of the League begins after a first week of matches that concluded yesterday, with Atlético de Madrid's victory against newly promoted Málaga by two goals to zero. The second day begins, however for some teams it is the first match of the competition after not being able to play last weekend.

The day opens this Thursday, August 20, at 9:00 p.m. with a Rayo Vallecano, Alavés. This match has the peculiarity that it will be played in the Butarque stadium, Leganés' home ground, due to the poor condition of the Vallecas stadium. In addition, Rayo comes from losing in Seville, while Alavés comes from a thrashing in their first league match. The day will continue on Friday 21, with a Real Betis, which hosts Real Sociedad at home. This match is the debut of both teams in the domestic competition, as they did not play on day one. Much is expected from this match, as they are squads with big names and teams that always fight to be at the top of the table.

Entering the weekend, on Saturday, Athletic Club will also debut at San Mamés, against a Sevilla that comes from an epic victory in their first match. Two other debuting teams such as Valencia and Celta will begin their journey in this league at Mestalla, looking for their first three points of the competition.  

Already on Sunday 23, at 5:00 p.m., we have the match of the day. Atlético de Madrid hosts a Villarreal that comes from a draw last weekend. This turns out to be a great match, due to the quality of their squads, and because last season they were third and fourth classified. Subsequently, a Getafe, Racing de Santander match will be played at 7:30 p.m. Finally, on Monday, there is still league, with two great matches that are: Osasuna against Levante and a fight between newly promoted teams, Málaga against Deportivo de la Coruña.

Madrid and Barça begin

Mourinho's Real Madrid will begin this league season, at the Espanyol stadium, on Saturday, August 22, at 9:30 p.m. All the players and new signings of Real Madrid are expected to be seen, to see what this new season of the whites will be like. For its part, Espanyol arrives after a great 3-0 victory at home on the first day.

Barça will also debut in the League this weekend, on Sunday 23 at 9:30 p.m., at Elche's stadium. Barça begins its journey in this competition to try to revalidate the title it won last year. It will do so against an Elche team that comes from rescuing a point against Depor. All its new signings and best players are also expected to be seen.
