For the first time in Spain, a professional college will be able to award official university degrees through an institution affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid. This is ICAM‑Universidad, promoted by the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), which will offer the Law Degree and several official master's degrees, including the one that qualifies for the practice of law.

The Ministry of Universities, headed by Diana Morant, has filed an appeal with the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid, warning that this decision constitutes a "very serious precedent". The ministry explains that allowing a professional group to offer university degrees at private prices could open the door to the privatization of higher education and affect the public university system. "University education cannot be subject to private interests," emphasize sources from the ministry.

Adding to this controversy is a personal element: the ICAM acted in defense of President Ayuso's boyfriend, which, according to the complaint, could raise doubts about possible preferential treatment by the regional government. The ministry emphasizes that legality and impartiality are fundamental to ensuring trust in the university system.

For now, the decision on the legality of ICAM's authorization to offer official degrees rests with the **High Court of Justice of Madrid**, which will assess whether the measure complies with Spanish regulations and guarantees the quality of education
