Cuca Gamarra (PP) warns that voting for PNV or EH Bildu is betting on "continuing four more years with Sánchez"

Cuca Gamarra raised her tone against the Government of Pedro Sánchez and placed PNV and EH Bildu at the center of her reproaches, accusing both formations of having been "the most loyal partners" of the Executive throughout the legislature. The national deputy secretary of the PP made these statements in Laguardia (Álava), in an event supporting the primary sector that the popular party used to ask for votes on November 29.

The PP leader, accompanied by the candidates for Congress and the Senate for Álava, Iñaki Oyarzabal and Dani García, respectively, asked the people of Álava to support her party to stop what she defined as "corruption" and to promote "change" hand in hand with Alberto Núñez Feijóo. "We have a lot at stake," she maintained, presenting the election as a dispute between continuity with Sánchez or a change in the presidency.

The PP turns Laguardia into a front against "sanchismo" and rural bureaucracy

Gamarra framed her message within the economic reality of Álava and appealed to those who, she said, "strive, work, and dedicate their lives to doing things to generate wealth." In that vein, she asked for votes to offer "change and management" against "more sanchismo." The popular leader linked this discourse with the agricultural sector and the problems of wine, assuring that the Government has responded with "lack of aid" and "lack of management." As she explained, this combination leaves "problems" unsolved and aggravates the difficulties of farmers and winemakers.

She also focused on bureaucracy, arguing that the countryside "has become papers" due to excessive procedures. The PP, she added, commits to "eliminating bureaucracy" and promoting a differentiated tax system for the self-employed that would even allow them not to be subject to VAT.

"That is the value of effort," she affirmed, in a speech in which she insisted that the upcoming elections will be decided between "continuing four more years with Sánchez" or opening a period of change. Against the President of the Government, she presented Feijóo as the option for "the return to management, to rigor, to experience, and ultimately to govern to generate solutions."

Adif, railway accidents, and European investigation enter the PP's offensive

The popular deputy secretary later extended her criticism to infrastructure and railway safety. She cited the fatal accidents that occurred on the high-speed line and linked them to what she described as consequences of "bad governance" and "corruption." "We are talking about 115 fatalities in two railway accidents on the same line," said Gamarra, who presented this figure as proof of the deterioration of a network that, according to her, "was the envy of the world." The statement underscores the harshness of her political reproach but does not replace the ongoing investigations into the causes and responsibilities of each accident.

In the same section of her speech, she alluded to the latest arrests by the Central Operative Unit (UCO) and the investigations into contracts in Adif, including that of a person whom some sources identify as Sánchez's former chauffeur. "All those from the Peugeot have already been arrested," she affirmed, although this accusation is part of her political offensive and does not in itself imply a judicial conclusion.

Gamarra was also asked about the opening of an investigation by the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) into possible fraud of European funds destined for the renovation and improvement of safety, signaling, and communication systems on the Madrid-Seville AVE line, where the fatal accident occurred near Urda (Toledo) on October 28. The PP assures that it will follow these investigations "very closely." The popular deputy secretary maintained that a future Feijóo government will collaborate with the European Public Prosecutor's Office to determine criminal responsibilities and to clarify the destination of public money, which, she denounced, would not have been used to improve the network or reinforce safety. The next step now depends on the evolution of these investigations and the electoral campaign, which the PP wants to focus on management and the wear and tear of the Government.
