The president of the Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has appeared in the so-called “ground zero” of the railway accident registered in Toledo, in the town of Urda, and has offered statements to the press about the operation of high-speed lines in Spain.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has pointed out that “yesterday we saw, after the accident, the best Spain,” in reference to the people who acted to help those affected, and added that “Spaniards need answers” regarding the operation of high-speed lines in the country.

“Political responsibilities are not optional”

Regarding those responsible for the accident, Feijóo has stated that “political responsibilities are not optional, they are essential from an ethical and moral point of view.”

“We are going to respect the dead, we are going to bury them, but it is clear that we have to make decisions,” said the leader of the PP.
