The Data Integration Center (CID) has reported that relatives of the possible fatalities of the train accident in Urda (Toledo) are receiving fake SMS messages, in which the Civil Guard would supposedly communicate the identification of the bodies of their loved ones.

Identification is not communicated by phone

Given the falsity of these notices, the CID has clarified that the official procedure for informing families about the identification of the deceased is carried out in person and personally by the Civil Guard, and never by phone call.

“Therefore, possible affected parties are asked not to give credence to the receipt of messages or phone calls,” the organization stated.

Autopsies and identification efforts continue

The CID added that the tasks of autopsy and identification of the deceased continue uninterrupted since yesterday, “with the greatest possible rigor and speed,” within the framework of the investigation opened after the train accident in Urda.
