Frente Amplio will request the appearance of the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, before the Permanent Deputation of Congress to provide explanations about the Toledo railway accident. This was announced by Ada Colau on her X account. "In these painful moments, transparency is more necessary than ever, and all necessary explanations must be given," Colau stated.
The announcement comes after the collision between a Renfe AVE and an Iryo train in Urda, while investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of the accident.

Likewise, the party demanded this Wednesday an independent audit of the railway network and the services linked to it, in addition to demanding "responsibilities at all levels", including political ones, after the Urda accident, in Toledo. The coalition asks for transparency to know what happened in an accident that, according to the balance included in its statement, had caused at least 68 deaths.
The party opens its statement by expressing its "consternation and sadness" and its condolences to the families and friends of the victims. It also extends its support to those affected, to the professionals involved in the emergency, and to the entire railway staff.
"The recurrence of such a serious accident on the high-speed network in the same year is inadmissible," the coalition states, referring to the tragedies of Toledo and Adamuz. In its opinion, what happened requires clear explanations and an independent examination of the conditions under which the network operates.
Frente Amplio proposes that this review not be limited to the specific circumstances of the crash. "Beyond technical responsibilities, we demand the assumption of political responsibilities. For responsibility and for humanity," it states. The statement was released after the public interventions of Óscar Puente and Pedro Sánchez, while the investigation remains open.

The claim comes from the alliance formed by IU, Más Madrid, Movimiento Sumar and the Comuns, which brings together forces with representation in the Executive. Its candidate for the Presidency, Ada Colau, had expressed her concern about the accident and her solidarity with those affected during the morning, along with her recognition of the emergency teams.
For his part, the federal coordinator of IU, Antonio Maíllo, has supported the passengers and the public services deployed and has called for avoiding hasty conclusions: "It is time to be prudent and only pay attention to information from official bodies".
The coalition has also suspended its pre-campaign events until further notice. "There are much more important things than any campaign", the text concludes.
