The regional deputy of Más Madrid and number one of the Frente Amplio in the Community of Madrid, Emilio Delgado, has once again extended a hand to Podemos to "integrate" into the coalition, although he has admitted that reaching an agreement is complicated and has not ruled out that next November 29 there will be two candidacies to the left of the PSOE.
He stated this in an interview on Cadena SER, where, asked about unity, he acknowledged that "it is easier to talk about unity than to carry it out."
Madrid's list, still not closed
Delgado explained that the deadline to submit the lists ends this Friday, but he specified that the coalition is still working on them and that they are not yet closed. In that context, he insisted that anyone who wants to "fight" is welcome in the project and that the door remains open for those who wish to join.
Asked about the possibility of Irene Montero occupying the number two position on the Madrid list, the leader of Más Madrid did not reject it, although he also did not specify any decision and left the answer in the hands of the leadership of Podemos: "The entire country has seen how all efforts within our reach have been put on the table to accommodate all political forces on that list. The door is open, the hand is extended, and if they want to take advantage of it, they have every possibility."
Differences in trajectory and debate on unity
Despite his willingness to close a unified candidacy, Emilio Delgado considered it "viable" that two lists would finally run, and he defended that the differences between both forces are not so much "programmatic" as they are about trajectories.
The head of the Frente Amplio list for Madrid also defended his designation as number one, recalling that it is Más Madrid that leads the left in the Madrid Assembly. In the same vein, he maintained that it is Podemos who must "integrate" into the coalition, which, he stressed, is a space that has been consolidating for two years.
Delgado did not want to answer the question of whether it is possible for them to renounce presenting themselves in some constituencies to concentrate the left's vote on the PSOE lists and merely pointed out that now it is time to talk about the problems of Spaniards.
