The acting Prime Minister and PSOE candidate for re-election, Pedro Sánchez, will resume his pre-campaign this Friday for the general elections on November 29 with an event in the city of Valencia, after all electoral appointments were suspended following the Urda (Toledo) railway accident that occurred last Wednesday in the province.

According to party sources, the meeting will be an "open" event, which is expected to be attended by "the entire party", its members, and "everyone who wants to join", with the aim of conveying that, although the tone of the campaign "will change" after the railway accident, "the strength" of the socialists "remains the same". The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Cabanyal-Canyamelar sports center.

Expected attendees and PSPV presence

The event is expected to be attended by the heads of the PSPV list for Congress for the provinces of Valencia, Castellón, and Alicante, Pilar Bernabé, María Jiménez, and Toni Francés, as well as the candidates for the Senate, led by Juan Antonio Sagredo in Valencia, in addition to the general secretary of the PSPV and Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, among other socialist officials.

Pedro Sánchez's last visit to the province of Valencia took place on October 20, when he traveled to Oliva after the rains caused by the DANA Adam. From there, he announced that the Council of Ministers would approve the declaration of a disaster zone for the affected municipalities and that the State would provide economic resources for reconstruction, in addition to expediting contracting "so that normality can be restored as soon as possible."

The campaign, interrupted after the Toledo accident

Two days after the event in Valencia, Pedro Sánchez will participate in another pre-campaign meeting in Bilbao on Sunday. Initially, Vitoria was going to be the first Basque capital where the president would hold a rally under the slogan "The Strength of the People", although that call was canceled after the Toledo accident, as were the rest of the pre-election activities.

The acting Prime Minister and candidate for re-election began his pre-campaign on October 17 in the Madrid town of Fuenlabrada. He then began a tour of different parts of Spain, which was interrupted on October 28.
