The PSOE has responded harshly to Alberto Núñez Feijóo's appearance from Ceuta and has accused him of traveling to the autonomous city to "add fuel to the tension" and "campaign using institutions". Ferraz maintains that the president of the Popular Party has prioritized his partisan interests over finding solutions for the emergency the city is experiencing.
"Once again, the PP has ridden the wave of hoaxes and fear through dangerous speeches that incite hatred," the socialists denounced in a statement collected by 'Europa Press'. The party believes that Feijóo has ignored the responsibilities of a state party and has used his visit to harden the migratory discourse and escalate confrontation with the Government.
Feijóo demands the return of "everyone," including minors
The socialist response comes after Feijóo appeared this Wednesday alongside the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas. The PP leader has demanded the return to Morocco of all people who entered irregularly on July 30 and 31, including minors. "Neither adults nor minors. Everyone must return," he stated.
Feijóo has also called for a single command to manage the crisis, reforms in the Immigration and Asylum laws, and a greater Frontex presence. During the same intervention, he announced that the PP will go to the Supreme Court to try to force several ministers to appear in the Senate, after the Executive sent its explanations to the sessions scheduled in Congress.
The approach regarding minors coincides with the plan of the Ministry of Youth and Childhood to urgently transfer about 500 girls and adolescents who remain in Ceuta to the Peninsula. Their return cannot be carried out automatically. Legislation requires individual study of each case, listening to the minor, allowing the intervention of the Public Prosecutor's Office, and verifying that any return occurs with guarantees and attending to their best interest.
For the PSOE, Feijóo's words are part of a strategy aimed at "gaining political advantage from every emergency" and end up harming those in a more vulnerable position. Ferraz considers that this discourse is incompatible with the aspiration to govern "a plural, humanitarian Spain that respects and coexists by placing human rights at the center."
The socialist Organization Secretary, Rebeca Torró, has raised the tone on her social media. "He only seeks the photo", she wrote about Feijóo's visit, before describing his actions as "tin patriotism". Against the PP's discourse, Torró has defended that the Government will continue to offer "solutions and useful policies" to respond to the situation in Ceuta.

The socialists have also used their response to shift the pressure to Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Ferraz has asked Feijóo to explain "the Monopoly game in Madrid" and the 6.3 million euro penthouse acquired by the public company Planifica Madrid to provisionally house Presidency departments. The PSOE-M has taken the operation to the Prosecutor's Office for possible crimes of prevarication and embezzlement, while the regional Government has decided to put the property up for sale. "We are still waiting for them," the PSOE concluded about the popular leader's explanations.
