The spokesperson for the PP in the Congress, Ester Muñoz, stated this Thursday that she is surprised that there are parties that continue to campaign and want to politically use the train accident in Urda (Toledo), after Vox decided on Wednesday not to suspend its pre-campaign events.
In an interview on Antena 3, Muñoz pointed out that, in her opinion, "I am surprised that there are those who want to be politically using all of this because, truly, all of us who dedicate ourselves to public service do not have the body to be in pre-campaign," in a message in which she asked for prudence in the face of a disaster.
The PP points to railway management
The campaign spokesperson for Alberto Núñez Feijóo considered it "very difficult" to explain to Spaniards that in less than nine months on the same track two fatal accidents have occurred, one due to the condition of the tracks and the other due to system failures. "It is not reassuring to see government officials say that everything has been a human problem," she declared in reference to the accident in which at least 69 people have died.
Muñoz added that the PP has been denouncing the lack of management for years and that the absence of General State Budgets influences and affects the "millionaire deficit" of investments in railway networks, a situation that, she said, "has consequences."
No news about Fátima Bañez
In her speech, Ester Muñoz also confirmed that there is still no news about former PP minister Fátima Bañez, who was traveling on the train and remains missing. The popular leader framed this lack of information within the context of extreme gravity surrounding the accident and insisted on the need to wait for the investigation to progress and the circumstances of the incident to be clarified.
