Loterías y Apuestas del Estado has premiered this Friday its traditional campaign for the 2026 Christmas Lottery Extraordinary Draw, an advertising piece that this year pays homage to organ donors and public healthcare as the ultimate expression of what it means to share, through a call, a heart, and a lottery ticket that remind us that "sharing gives life".

The campaign, which has a budget of 740,000 euros, focuses on a Spanish society that, according to the ad's own narrative, is "generous" and responds when the person next to them needs help. Proximity Madrid is the agency responsible for developing the piece, disseminated on the occasion of the start of the Christmas campaign.

Edu, the story of a second chance

The television commercial revolves around Edu, a man who has been waiting for an important call for a long time, the one that should inform him that there is a heart donor for him. When he receives that news and undergoes the intervention, he begins to live this second chance in a different way, with changes that surprise those around him, such as starting to dance in the middle of the street.

Later, a hunch leads him to buy a Christmas Lottery ticket, precisely the last number available at the administration. Upon leaving the establishment, chance leads him to meet a woman who was looking for that same number because it was the one her deceased brother always bought. At that moment, Edu decides to share the ticket with her and, as he puts his hand to his heart, he explains that some time ago another person shared something with him that changed his life.

Before that confession, both embrace emotionally, at the close of a campaign that links the tradition of the draw with a message of solidarity, gratitude, and hope.

When will the lottery draw be?

Towards the end, the advertisement reveals on screen the slogan "The draw that unites us" along with the celebration date: December 22. The coveted Christmas Gordo awards 4 million euros per series (400,000 euros for each ticket), maintaining its traditional price of 20 euros.

The prize money for the main awards is completed with the second prize (125,000 euros per ticket), the third (50,000 euros), two fourth prizes of 20,000 euros each, and eight fifth prizes endowed with 6,000 euros per ticket. To these main amounts are added, as usual, the "pedreas" (small prizes), approximations, hundreds, endings, and refunds.
