Vox demands the expulsion of Morocco as organizer of the 2030 World Cup for what happened in Ceuta: "It is not a loyal partner

This Thursday, Vox has launched a non-legislative proposal to review Morocco's participation as co-organizing country of the FIFA World Cup 2030, for discussion in the Commission of Education, Vocational Training and Sports. "The very serious events recorded in Ceuta on July 30 and 31 have completely broken the assumptions of trust and cooperation on which a shared candidacy necessarily rests," highlights the far-right party in the initiative.

The party led by Abascal has stated that Morocco, "through the instrumentalization of immigration," has shown that "it is not a loyal partner, neither for organizing a sporting event of this magnitude nor for any neighborhood issue." This is why they also ask the Government to "oppose any decision that relegates Spain's prominence or places the 2030 World Cup final outside our country." The far-rightists consider that "giving in to Morocco's demands" to host the final of such an important event as the World Cup would mean "a deliberate humiliation that must be avoided with all energy by Spain."

Sumar and Podemos also demand

Sumar registered an initiative in Congress this Wednesday to ask that Spain not organize the 2030 World Cup with Morocco. It is a non-legislative proposal in which they ask for a debate in Congress on the organization of the 2030 World Cup. From Sumar, they considered that the situation "forces those involved in its organization to demand effective and continuous respect for human rights, international legality, and the democratic principles that should govern the actions of public authorities." In addition, the party requested that FIFA, the RFEF, and Portugal "carry out a specific review and evaluation of the current joint organization model of the FIFA World Cup 2030, in light of the serious events that occurred at the Ceuta border, the precedents indicated by the European Parliament, and the human rights commitments assumed by the host countries, transferring the conclusions obtained to the Congress of Deputies."

Podemos has also requested the expulsion of Morocco from the organization of the 2030 World Cup, because they consider the country to be a "dictatorship" that "attacks Spain's sovereignty," referring to the recent migratory crisis in Ceuta. They have advocated for Spain to organize the tournament exclusively with Portugal and have stated that Morocco should not participate in the competition, just like "all dictatorships."

Infantino sows controversy

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has offered the 2030 World Cup final to Morocco, as a desperate measure to gain support to remain at the head of the organization. According to `The Times´, Infantino has decided to take the final away from Spain to strengthen his position in FIFA after the setbacks suffered after his failed decision to sell the Club World Cup to private hands. After this information came to light, FIFA denied such reports through a brief reaction from a spokesperson. It called "false" and "misleading" that Infantino had made any promise to Morocco, adding that the decision on where the final will be played will be made "in due course."
