The Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, attended this Thursday morning La hora de la 1 on ‘TVE’, presented by journalist Silvia Intxaurrondo. During the interview, Intxaurrondo asked her about the recent initiative of the Popular Party to lower taxes in the face of the Middle East war. In this context, Díaz, has described the ‘popular’ leader as an “old washing machine” implying that his only proposal is always to lower taxes.
Thus, he has stated: "Mr. Feijóo is like an old washing machine in our country, those that had a single program and that I almost don't know if they still exist. His only program is to lower taxes. When he was president of the Xunta his only proposal was to lower taxes, when we were growing at a brutal rate or today that we continue to grow in our country, his proposal is to lower taxes and when it rains, lower taxes”.
In turn, he has demanded that he act as a “patriot” and a “democrat” and that he support the refusal against the war. "As soon as he heard Mrs. Meloni, who is quite a bit smarter than the entire Spanish PP, he rectified because a democrat cannot side with the violation of international legality," he expressed.
Along the same lines, she recalled that on multiple occasions when the Government has launched economic proposals to solve crises like that of COVID, “the PP did not accompany this ministry when we were approving the ERTEs, they did not even have the dignity to side with the Government of Spain in a crisis situation like those". The Minister of Labor stated: "I ask you to abandon the single program of the old washing machine and side with the Government of Spain.”
