Javier Ruiz sets the course for La Séptima, a television of "what's happening": "We are going to import first and lead later"

Javier Ruiz, editorial director of La Séptima, the new television channel that will arrive on our televisions next November 5, has explained exclusively to ElConstitucional.es the keys to his landing in the project. The journalist faces this new stage with the ambition of turning live broadcasting and context into hallmarks and sets as his first objective to make the channel relevant, and then fight for leadership.

Question, ElConstitucional.es: How will your arrival at La Séptima be, your landing after arriving as leader of Mañaneros? How will you 'perform' now?

Answer, Javier Ruiz: We are going to outline it now. We are going to follow the spirit of live broadcasting. At Televisión Española we did live broadcasting and here live broadcasting will continue to rule. But we are going to have more time and we are going to have much more context. We are going to have the possibility of explaining the why and the what now. So this is going to be the television of live broadcasting. This is the television of "it's happening". If you are interested in what is happening, you are interested in La Séptima.

Q. What is your main objective?

A. J. R. Our first objective is to matter. We are not going out to draw, we are not looking for irrelevance. We are going to matter first and we are going to try to lead later. I say that players who go out onto the field without a thirst for the ball don't play football, they play something else. We are going to try to matter first and lead later.
