The number two of the PP for the Madrid list to the Congress, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, has indicated that, despite the differences with Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the president of the popular party is “the president that Spain needs” against “a left that does not know how to govern and does not accept losing”.

Álvarez de Toledo has stated verbatim: “We are not identical, no one in this party is”, and has defended Feijóo as “a solvent, brave and good man”, although “above all decent”.

In statements to esRadio, Álvarez de Toledo has defended the PP as “the most powerful instrument at the service of the most important things, which are Spain and freedom”, and has pointed out that it is “the antithesis of the corrupt egolatry we are suffering”.

The PP deputy has defended that Spain does not want to be “Maduro's Venezuela”, but neither “Jean-Luc Mélenchon's France”, in reference to the extreme violence of recent days in the Gallic country.

In that sense, Álvarez de Toledo has pointed out that a left that “always uses the same strategies, fraud, fear, hatred and violence”.

Borja Sémper accuses the PSOE of trying to hide the defeat

For his part, the national spokesman and deputy secretary of Culture and Sports of the PP, Borja Sémper, has accused the PSOE of making “tricks” and of “diluting its acronym” with Frente Amplio, understanding that they have “the conviction” that they are going to “lose the elections” on November 29.

This is how Sémper spoke in an interview on 'El Programa de Ana Rosa' on 'Telecinco', in which he defended that, despite “plays of this style”, Spaniards are “perfectly aware of what has happened” during the last two legislatures and “want a change”.

“However they present themselves, wherever they present themselves, there is a social majority that wants change”, added the PP leader.

In this sense, Sémper has acknowledged that, “beyond what the PSOE does”, the PP's objective is to “offer Spaniards a future” based on social, housing, pension, tax or infrastructure policies, and has stressed that it is “a project of institutional regeneration”.

The PP, focused on the Upper House and on a regeneration project

Asked about the negotiations with Vox for the Senate lists, Sémper avoided answering, although he insisted that both formations must guarantee that “the future can be better than the past” and that the majorities represented in the Senate respond to “the will of Spaniards”.

The undersecretary of the PP has reiterated that his party will do “everything in its power” to ensure these objectives in the Upper House are met, and concluded: “I believe this is what is relevant. And we are going to do everything in our power to make this happen.”
