The far-right Vox has filed a complaint against those responsible for the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (Adif) for Wednesday's accident in Urda, Toledo, which has left at least 68 dead. The party of Santiago Abascal has gone to the Orgaz courts and has requested to appear as a popular prosecution in the case, while maintaining its pre-campaign activity and accusing the Government of the state of the infrastructures.
The complaint attributes possible crimes of reckless homicide and reckless injuries to the operators of the Atocha traffic control post who would have authorized resuming the journey after the failure of the LZB railway protection system. The document also points to their hierarchical superiors during that shift and to those who were entrusted with the preparation, application and supervision of safety procedures when the usual system fails.
As a first step, Vox requests to secure the remains of the trains and the areas near the accident, as well as to prevent unauthorized actions that could alter the scene of the crash. These are requests from the party, pending the decisions of the judicial body. The information disseminated about the complaint includes its presentation and the request to appear, without including a resolution of admission for processing.
The investigation into the accident was already underway. The Civil Guard has taken statements from the people who were in the Adif control center, while justice tries to clarify the circumstances of the collision. The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has explained that the AVE received authorization to resume circulation normally after the LZB failure and ended up hitting the stopped Iryo. This initial reconstruction must be contrasted with the records, communications and other evidence.
Abascal maintains his events and Vox supports a protest against the Government
The party's judicial action comes after Abascal refused to suspend his pre-campaign, despite the cancellation of events by the PSOE, the PP and Frente Amplio. From Santander, the leader has conveyed his condolences to the families and his solidarity with the injured, but has defended continuing with his agenda. "We are not celebrating, we are working," he said, according to the party itself.
In that same statement, Vox acknowledges that the causes of the tragedy are still unknown, while reproducing Abascal's accusations against the Executive and his assertion that "corruption kills." So far, the information about the lawsuit points to possible responsibilities related to traffic management and safety protocols; the investigation will have to determine what happened and who may have been negligent.

Hay que denunciar a este Gobierno criminal todos los días a todas horas. https://t.co/O9CJBbDHno
The party has also announced its presence at the demonstration called by the Solidaridad union for 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday in Cibeles square, in Madrid. The call demands accountability and Puente's resignation under the slogan "Corruption kills." By endorsing it from its official account, Vox has called the Executive a "criminal Government", while emergency teams continue to work among the wrecked wagons.
