Feijóo hardens the PP's offensive over the management of the Ceuta crisis and accuses Sánchez of acting with "silence, ambiguity, and subordination"

The Popular Party maintains this week its offensive against the Government of Pedro Sánchez for the management of the migratory crisis after the massive entry of people into Ceuta at the end of July. This Monday, the party of Alberto Núñez Feijóo held an informative breakfast, which was attended by the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas.

During the event, Feijóo focused his criticism on the Executive's decision to enable new reception places in the vicinity of the Poniente Dock. The popular leader considers the placement of tents in this area to provide 1,000 additional places to be "a great irresponsibility," understanding that the measure could complicate the work of the security forces and bodies.

The president of the PP has also questioned the concentration of more than a thousand migrants in a port infrastructure located next to the ships that connect Ceuta with the Peninsula. In his opinion, this decision represents a new error by the Government and he has raised the tone against Sánchez by assuring that the Executive "lost its dignity a long time ago."

Feijóo's intervention had the express support for Vivas's management, whose actions during the crisis he defined as an example of "calm" when defending the interests of the autonomous city. The popular leader maintained that the response of the Ceuta president, along with that of the citizens themselves and that of "the majority of Spaniards," allowed to stop what he described as "a plan that began with an invasion," continued "with resignation" and concluded "with some kind of concession to the neighboring country."

In his speech, Feijóo also held Morocco responsible for what happened and defined the situation as a "tolerated and sponsored invasion." Faced with this situation, he demanded that the Executive abandon a strategy that, according to him, cannot be based "on silence, on ambiguity and on subordination."

The leader of the opposition has defended that Spain must "speak clearly and must make itself respected" before Morocco. In this vein, he has demanded that the Government explain what communications it has maintained with the Moroccan authorities during the crisis and, especially, what response it has received from Rabat.
