This Monday, the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, presented his roadmap if he reaches La Moncloa after the general elections scheduled for November 29. In this regard, he presented his manifesto at an event 'Contract with Spain', where he outlines his principles should he come to govern. However, during his speech, he made a new slip of the tongue.
The leader of the main opposition party promised the construction of "more than a million new homes, with more land and less democracy." He then corrected himself and stated: "With less bureaucracy."
The PSOE highlights Feijóo's "blunders"
The spokesperson for the PSOE in Congress and head of the list for Congress for Vizcaya in the upcoming general elections, Patxi López, assured this Monday in Bilbao that the right is "nervous" because, in his opinion, the interventions of its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, "are counted as blunders."
López made these statements at the event where the general secretary of the PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, presented the heads of the list for Congress for the three Basque territories: Patxi López himself for Vizcaya, Rafaela Romero for Guipúzcoa, and Javier Hurtado for Álava.
The PP's roadmap
Alberto Núñez Feijóo has presented his 'Contract with Spain', which includes the commitment to build one million homes, guarantee the revaluation of pensions, and regulate immigration. In economic matters, the PP leader has promised to reduce taxes and raise the average salary of Spaniards.
In public services, he has announced more doctors and a more demanding education that improves academic results. He has also proposed recovering the quality of the railway, allocating investments to water infrastructures to face droughts and floods, and strengthening security in the streets.
In the institutional sphere, Feijóo has committed to defending sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthening the separation of powers, and improving the functioning of the State and democratic quality. The popular leader has framed these promises within a project of "national reconstruction" with which he assures that he will recover Spain's international credibility and guarantee equality among citizens.
