The law firm ‘Olympe Abogados’, which advocates for human rights and specializes in feminism, support for the LGTBI+ collective, and the fight against racism, has filed a complaint against the director of ‘El Mundo’, Joaquín Manso and journalist Federico Jiménez Losantos for the column written by the conservative and published by the newspaper titled: Communist pedophile pride and socialist whoremonger.
The right-winger has received multiple criticisms for the opinion he wrote a day after the Pride celebration in Madrid, whose conclusion of his column is: “Goodbye, child abuse; hello pedophilia”. An attempt to stigmatize the collective, target it, and fuel a discourse of hate.
In this context, ‘Olympe Abogados’ has announced the lawsuit through its social media, where they have criticized the “inaction of the Ministry of Equality”. “From Olympe, we announce that, on our own initiative, we are going to report the director of ‘El Mundo’, ‘El Mundo’ itself, and the outdated journalist who signs it to the hate crimes prosecutor’s office,” they stated on X.
❗️Desde Olympe os anunciamos que, a iniciativa propia, vamos a denunciar al director de ‘El Mundo’, al propio ‘El Mundo’ y al periodista trasnochado que lo firma ante la fiscalía de delitos de odio

The State LGTBI+ Federation demands the withdrawal of the column
The State LGTBI+ Federation and the Madrid Orgullo platform have demanded through a letter to the management of the newspaper 'El Mundo', the immediate withdrawal of an opinion column signed by Federico Jiménez Losantos in which links are established between the LGTBI+ movement and pederasty. The entities consider that the text constitutes a direct attack on the dignity of the collective and have also transferred their complaint to the Federation of Journalists' Associations of Spain (FAPE).
The organizations maintain that the article contributes to the stigmatization of LGTBI+ people, presenting them as a social threat through associations they consider false and defamatory. In their complaint, they recall that freedom of expression does not protect the dissemination of statements that violate fundamental rights or promote discrimination against historically vulnerable groups.
The controversy originated from the publication of a column titled "Pedophile communist and socialist whoremonger Pride". In it, Losantos attacks the LGTBI+ movement, queer theory, and different left-wing formations, using particularly controversial expressions to refer to Pride celebrations and the collective's demands.
Among other aspects, the conservative maintains that Pride has been "kidnapped" by the left and questions gender identity, in addition to associating policies related to sexual and gender diversity with alleged harm to minors. The text also includes references to judicial cases and convictions involving people linked to left-wing parties to conclude with one of the most controversial statements in the column: "Goodbye, child abuse; hello, pedophilia. Communists for pederasty, socialists for prostitution."
Thus, the organizations of the collective maintain that the article is not limited to expressing a political or ideological opinion, but rather presents the collective as a danger to society. In their opinion, this type of message favors the dissemination of hate speech and can have real consequences in the form of discrimination, harassment, or violence against LGTBI+ people.
In the letter sent to the newspaper, the entities denounce that the column "stigmatizes, dehumanizes and targets" the collective, in addition to contributing to normalizing messages that question its legitimacy and rights.
Complaint to the journalistic profession
In addition to requesting the withdrawal of the article, the organizations have brought the facts to the attention of the Federation of Journalists' Associations of Spain. Their objective is to assess whether the published content respects the deontological principles that govern the practice of journalism.
The entities recall that informative and opinion work must be developed under criteria of truthfulness, responsibility, and respect for the dignity of people, especially when it affects vulnerable groups.
The controversy comes just a few days after the celebration of Pride in Madrid, one of the largest mobilizations for LGTBI+ rights, and focuses the debate on the limits between freedom of expression and discourses that can foster discrimination against minorities.
