The ultra Javier Milei began his public agenda this Wednesday in Madrid by insulting both the country and the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, whom he called an “unpresentable dictator” during an informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum. Among the attendees were representatives of the PP and Vox, while Isabel Díaz Ayuso has confirmed that she will meet with the Argentine president this afternoon.

“Spain has known how to welcome hundreds of thousands of Argentines who escaped misery and lack of future as a result of the sinister socialism of the 21st century, its Argentine branch, which is Kirchnerism, and which you regularly suffer with the unpresentable dictator Pedro Sánchez,” the ultra-Argentine president stated. At the end of the disqualification, applause was heard in the auditorium after the disqualification of Sánchez.

Rollán, Aguirre, and Vox representatives among attendees

The President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, of the PP, according to RTVE, attended the breakfast. The former president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, also attended.

On behalf of Vox, their spokespersons in the Madrid Assembly and the City Council of the capital, Isabel Pérez Moñino and Arantzazu Cabello, were present.

The insults to the Spanish Prime Minister thus occurred at an event with the presence of representatives of both parties, in the midst of the pre-campaign for the general elections on November 29.

Ayuso confirms the meeting and the PP presents it as a normal relationship

The Community of Madrid has confirmed an institutional meeting between Ayuso and Milei at 5:00 p.m., after initially avoiding ratifying the appointment included in the Argentine president's agenda.

Before that confirmation, the PP spokesperson in Congress and campaign spokesperson, Ester Muñoz, had supported the possibility of them meeting. In statements to Telecinco, she defended that Milei is the head of state of Argentina, a “sister nation” with which Spain maintains economic, social, cultural, and emotional interests.

“Therefore, I subscribe to normal relations of what should be with a head of state of a sister nation like Argentina,” Muñoz said when asked about the meeting.

These statements defended the meeting; they do not constitute a response to the insults later uttered by Milei during breakfast.

Disqualifications to the press before intervening

The Argentine president has also engaged in a verbal confrontation with journalists upon his arrival at the event. Asked about his agenda and the criticism from the Government and the PSOE regarding his visit, he avoided answering.

“I don't waste my time on stupid incompetent impoverishing leftists,” he snapped before continuing without stopping. RTVE places this episode at the entrance of the informative breakfast, not upon his arrival at the airport.

Later, before the audience, he directed his disqualifications against Sánchez.

Meeting with Garriga at Disenso, but without Abascal

The visit includes a meeting at the headquarters of the Disenso Foundation, linked to Vox, with the party's general secretary, Ignacio Garriga, and the entity's director, Jorge Martín Frías.

Santiago Abascal will not attend. According to his party, the leader of Vox informed Milei by phone that he would maintain his pre-campaign agenda, with events in A Coruña in the morning and in Avilés in the afternoon.

This is Milei's seventh trip to Spain since he assumed the Argentine Presidency in December 2023. His presence coincides with the run-up to 29N and with an agenda of contacts with the Spanish right and far-right.
