The campaign spokesperson for the Popular Party (PP), Ester Muñoz, has supported the possible meeting that the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, could hold with the Argentine president, Javier Milei, by emphasizing that he is the head of state of Argentina, a "sister nation" of Spain.
In statements to Telecinco, the parliamentary spokesperson for the PP in the Congress of Deputies also defended that the institutional relationship with Argentina should be framed within normality, taking into account, she said, that in that country there are "many economic, social, cultural and emotional interests" for Spain.
"Therefore, I subscribe to normal relations with what should be with a head of state of a sister nation like Argentina," said Ester Muñoz when asked about the possible meeting between Isabel Díaz Ayuso and Javier Milei.
Sources from the Madrid government have indicated, in response to questions from Europa Press, that this meeting is not yet closed.
Criticism of the left's campaign strategy
The PP spokesperson also rejected that the left stirs up "fear" every time there are elections, because, in her opinion, it cannot mobilize "hope." "It is their formula for this campaign and I believe it will not work for them," she stated, before arguing that Spaniards want to "end" the government "of delinquency, incompetence and, above all, abandonment."
In that context, Ester Muñoz criticized the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, whom she reproached for having "laughed at the victims of Adamuz" on a television program.
"He has more than 60 deaths on his back," said the popular leader, who described Pedro Sánchez and Óscar Puente as "the two most indecent characters that Spanish politics has known in the last 48 years."
