The search and arrest warrant against the ultra agitator Vito Quiles now has a concrete explanation. The magistrate Rosa María Freire, head of the Instruction Court number 32 of Madrid, ordered his location after he ignored up to two judicial summonses in an open investigation for the dissemination of a hoax against a civil servant of the General State Administration. The procedure does not arise from his confrontations with political leaders nor from the scenes protagonized in Congress, but from a complaint for an alleged crime against honor presented by the worker whom he publicly singled out with a completely false story.

The investigation maintains that the ultra Quiles spread on Telegram and TikTok that this public employee had been imprisoned for a serious crime, that he had regained his freedom thanks to the direct intervention of the Second Vice President of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, and that he had subsequently been placed as an advisor in the Ministry of Labor. The complaint maintains that none of these statements were true. The civil servant, who has been working for the Administration for more than four decades under PP and PSOE governments, maintains that his professional career was seriously damaged after Quiles also published his full name and a photograph, which triggered a wave of insults, threats, and derogatory messages on social media.

The judicial procedure advanced for weeks without Quiles appearing. He was summoned to testify as an investigated party on June 9 and again on June 25, but he did not attend either of the two summonses. After these non-appearances, the magistrate concluded that the investigated party was evading the action of Justice and agreed to his search and arrest with the sole objective of bringing him before the court to take his statement. Once he appears, although he already anticipates "I am not going to surrender," the order provides for his release.

From the narrative of political persecution to the real origin of the judicial order

While the Police tried to locate him this Wednesday at the headquarters of EDA TV, the 'pseudo-media' directed by the ultra Javier Negre where he carries out a large part of his activity, Quiles chose to construct a completely different narrative on his social networks. He claimed that Pedro Sánchez's Government had launched a "witch hunt" against him for asking Begoña Gómez months ago and presented the judicial order as political persecution. Hours later, he went a step further and, in a defiant and arrogant tone, announced that he does not intend to surrender "to Sánchez's Government", even assuring that Argentine President Javier Milei would have offered him refuge in the Argentine Embassy if the situation worsened.

However, the judicial case known this Thursday places the focus on a completely different matter. The investigation revolves around the dissemination of an alleged hoax about a public worker, the publication of his personal data, and the consequences that this exposure would have had on his professional and private life. Quiles' defense maintains that the arrest warrant is disproportionate.

Seven judicial fronts and a growing history of conflicts

This new case is added to an increasingly extensive list of open proceedings against the so-called 'pseudo-journalist' Quiles. He remains under investigation for the dissemination of the address and photographs of the home of Beatriz Corredor, president of Redeia, after the 2025 power outage; he faces another case for alleged insults and slander against the general secretary of FACUA, Rubén Sánchez; he remains prosecuted for an alleged hate crime against a person with intellectual disability, a procedure in which the Prosecutor's Office requests two years in prison and disqualification from practicing "journalism"; and he is also being investigated after the complaint filed by Renfe for alleged fraud related to the use of train tickets.

To these procedures is added the withdrawal for three months of his accreditation in the Congress of Deputies, after recording former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in an area where cameras were prohibited and for accumulating various incidents with deputies and accredited real journalists. The complaints promoted by Begoña Gómez and political analyst Sarah Santaolalla were eventually archived, but the rest of the investigations continue their course in different courts.

The next move no longer depends on Quiles' own public statements or the messages he posts on social media. The arrest warrant will remain in effect until he appears before the judge who is investigating the case and answers for the procedure that today has ceased to be an mystery.
