Sarah Santaolalla prepares for her debut on La Séptima with an interview she has presented as one of the main attractions of her program. During the presentation of the channel's formats, which begins its broadcasts this Thursday, November 5, Santaolalla announced that she will receive a person of current relevance, although she has avoided revealing their identity.
"We are going to have interviews, we start on Thursday with the interview," she advanced before referring to the guest as "the person of the moment." Santaolalla maintained the mystery: "Of course, I'm not going to tell you who it is, because you'll see it in a little while." The presenter insisted that it is "an awaited person." The interview will be part of the launch of 'En línea', the program she will host from Monday to Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the new channel.
Santaolalla explained that her involvement in the project goes beyond appearing in front of the cameras. During her speech, she highlighted that the presenters also participate in the co-direction of their formats, a responsibility she considers fundamental for understanding information and being able to convey it to the public. "I believe that one must be part of the news and I believe that one must know it because if you don't soak it in and learn it, then you don't know how to convey it," she defended.
The communicator pointed out that, when she joined the project, she received two requests: "own information and own criteria." According to her, the team has already worked with exclusive information during the preparations and rehearsals of the program.
She also made it clear that the broadcast will be live: "We are going to do everything live." With humor, she acknowledged that there will be errors and expressed her intention to reduce them as this new stage progresses.
A section to analyze how other media report
Among the contents she has advanced is a space dedicated to examining the news published by other media and the way they present them. Santaolalla explained that she follows newspapers, radios, and televisions of different editorial lines, including the channels where she has stopped working.
"We are going to see what news, even how they approach or how they tell it," she pointed out. Her intention is to bring to the program an analysis of these contents that goes beyond social media discussion. This proposal responds to one of the ideas she has defended during the presentation: "First the data and then the narrative, because there are many narratives without data."
Likewise, she has conveyed the keys to her program: it will combine information, interviews, discussion panels, and editorials. It will also reserve space for entertainment. Santaolalla explained that she wants to keep in mind those who are going through economic difficulties and seek both information and companionship on television. "Information has to arrive quickly, agilely, and truthfully, but sometimes it also helps to crack a smile," she stated.
In that sense, she celebrated that her program shares the schedule relays with Verónica Sanz and Rocío Delgado, with whom she hopes to maintain conversations and take advantage of her role as a panelist.
The presenter acknowledged the accumulated nerves during the last few weeks, although she assured that she maintains the excitement for the premiere. "For me, it is a source of pride and pleasure to be here and for you to be able to be part of this project that we are so passionate about, that moves us so much, and that excites us so much," Santaolalla concluded.
