The Ondas Awards 2026 announced this Tuesday, November 3, the verdict of its 73rd edition and distributed the main television recognitions among Polònia, Aquí la Tierra, Berto Romero, Yakarta and Malena Alterio, while El Intermedio added a special mention for Andrea Ropero's report on Maricarmen's eviction.

Gemma Nierga, from Cadena SER, read the resolution after the reading was postponed last October 28. The jury thus closed the waiting period and named the formats, programs and professionals who have excelled in radio, music and television.

Consolidated formats take the main part of the verdict

The award for Best entertainment program went to Polònia 20 anys, from TV3, for maintaining a humor format on public television for two decades and sustaining political satire. The distinction for Best current affairs or news coverage program went to Aquí la Tierra, for its special on the solar eclipse broadcast on La 1 of RTVE.

In addition, El Intermedio received a special mention for the special on Maricarmen's eviction, a work that the jury highlighted for showing on television, directly and journalistically, a historical moment of social change from the closest proximity to Maricarmen Abascal. The mention does not equate to the main award in the category, but it does underscore the weight of the report.

The verdict also reserved a recognition for Identidades, from TV Canaria, as Best local content, for telling Canarian culture in a close way and far from clichés. Likewise, Pla seqüència, from La2Cat of RTVE, received a special mention for “perseveringly demonstrating that it is possible to do other types of interviews” through a format that invites conversation.

Fiction and documentary complete a widely distributed awards list

In the creators and actors section, Berto Romero won the award for Best communicator for El consultorio de Berto, from Movistar Plus, valued for its unique tone, its speed and its brilliance. The platform added another Ondas with Yakarta, distinguished as Best fiction series for its writing.

The same production also left a shared award for Best performance: Javier Cámara was recognized for his work in Yakarta, while Malena Alterio received the ex aequo award for Cochinas, from Prime Video. The jury highlighted in both cases the construction of complex characters, with nuances and without renouncing their darkness.

The closing of the television awards came with Sidosa, distinguished as Best documentary or documentary series for its narrative capacity to transmit moments of great intensity and truth without falling into sentimentalism.
