The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, announced this Wednesday that, if he comes to power after 29N, young people will have “the greatest aid in history” to buy a home, through a package of measures that will include bonuses in IRPF, tax deductions, guarantees, and tax deferrals during the mortgage.
At the closing ceremony of a conference on housing held in Seville alongside the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, Feijóo has defended that, if Spaniards give him their trust, young people will be able to dedicate the fruit of their labor to buying a house, and not to being trapped in the difficulty of accessing housing.
“If Spaniards give us their trust, young people will have the greatest aid in history to buy a home, and that aid is that you can use the fruit of your labor to buy a house,” affirmed the president of the PP, who specified that the measures will be aimed at those under 40 who acquire a home for the first time.
Bonuses, guarantees, and tax deferrals
As explained by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the Popular Party's plan includes bonuses in IRPF, tax deductions, guarantees, and tax deferrals during mortgage payments, all aimed at facilitating access to housing for young people and preventing them from falling “into despair and desolation.”
The popular leader has also reiterated his commitment to building at least one million homes if he manages to govern, a promise that has already been reflected in his contract with Spain, presented this same week.
The laws Feijóo wants to approve in one hundred days
During his speech, Alberto Núñez Feijóo criticized that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, already “does not want to talk” about housing, despite the fact that, as he stressed, that was one of the issues used as an “alibi” for the electoral call.
Furthermore, the PP leader has committed to promoting in his first hundred days in Moncloa the Land Law, the Anti-Squatting Law and the Horizontal Property Law, as part of his strategy to address the problem of access to housing.
