The ultra agitator Vito Quiles announced this Tuesday a tour through 14 cities to mobilize the vote against the Government before the general elections on November 29. He has called it 'Tour Combativos II' and presents it under the slogan "Mafia or homeland". In the message accompanying the poster, he asks young people to take to the streets and vote "en masse for the political opposition."
The first stop is announced for October 15 in Pamplona. Then Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao, and Valencia are listed; in November, the tour would pass through Seville, Malaga, Granada, Ceuta, Murcia, Valladolid, Tenerife, and Madrid, before ending in Alicante on the 19th, already in the middle of the election campaign. These are the dates Quiles has published, although the poster does not specify places or times for the events.
"On November 30, Spain will wake up with another President of the Government," he assures in his publication. Quiles takes for granted a result that will depend on the ballot boxes. Furthermore, on November 29, deputies and senators will be elected, not directly the president. The call decree sets December 23 for the constitution of the new Cortes.
El 30 de noviembre España se levantará con otro presidente del Gobierno. Es el sueño de millones de españoles y, por ello, llamo hoy a la brutal movilización para hacerlo realidad votando en masa a la oposición política. Joven español, nos vemos en las calles. There is also a deliberate choice in the calendar. The official election campaign will begin on November 13 and end on November 27, according to the Official State Gazette. Of the 14 announced events, only Tenerife, Madrid, and Alicante fall within that period. The rest would be held in the pre-campaign, with the same explicit call to vote against the Executive.
The poster follows the tone of the message. Alongside the slogan "Mafia or homeland" appear images of Quiles with a megaphone, hooded groups, and cutouts that visually link the PSOE with money and nightclubs. It is electoral propaganda built on insinuations, without the image providing proof of what it suggests.
The precedent of the universities
The name 'Combativos II' refers to the tour Quiles made last year through university campuses. At the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the institution had warned him in writing that his event lacked authorization. Even so, he attended with security personnel; the university later denounced the gathering of people from outside the campus and the alteration of activities that were permitted.
At the Universitat de València, a student protest and Quiles's event took place on both sides of a police cordon. The university stated that he had not requested permission to hold his event there. The most serious incidents occurred in Pamplona, around an event that Quiles eventually canceled. The disturbances protagonized by groups opposed to his presence left five injured, including four police officers and a journalist, according to the Government Delegation. The responsibility for these aggressions lies with those who committed them.
Quiles faces this new tour after the Congress Bureau definitively withdrew his press accreditation due to repeated infractions. The PSOE and Sumar voted in favor of this decision, while the PP abstained. The agitator, who was a candidate on the European list of Se Acabó La Fiesta and participated in a PP campaign closing event in Aragon, is now touring Spain again with a message he has already put in writing: to ask for votes for the opposition.
