The digital project promoted by the far-right agitator Vito Quiles, ‘Combativos’, with which he claimed he was going to carry out a “media revolution,” has now gone more than a month without publishing a new story on its website. Furthermore, the last piece of information appearing on the portal is dated July 10 and corresponds to false content about FACUA.
The ultra presented the platform, which he defined as an “integral communication medium and free platform,” and announced unprecedented interviews with people who, he claimed, would cause a turnaround in the political landscape, in addition to critical content about Pedro Sánchez’s government and state structures.
The project itself stated that “the voices that will bring down Sánchez will speak,” along with interviews, events, meetings, news, and investigations aimed at “changing the course” of Spain. However, the website’s activity has nothing to do with that ambitious announcement.
The digital platform is also at the center of a legal conflict over its corporate structure. FACUA-Consumidores en Acción reported Quiles to the Secretary of State for Digitalization and the Spanish Data Protection Agency for alleged irregularities it had detected on the website. According to the organization, the portal identified a supposed company, ‘Combativos SL,’ as the owner, which would not be registered in the Commercial Registry. FACUA also maintains that the legal notice did not include data such as the NIF or the address of the supposed owner.
The association also focused on the platform’s donation system. According to FACUA, the website requested financial contributions to fund the activities of ‘Combativos SL’ and projects linked to the “production of free content and scholarships for young people,” but the bank account provided for making deposits would appear in Vito Quiles’ name. The organization believes that these facts could violate certain obligations provided for in the regulations on information society services and data protection.
Added to this controversy is the judicial confrontation with the general secretary of FACUA, Rubén Sánchez, following information published by 'Combativos' in which he was attributed the use of a supposed fake invoice and a non-existent company to collect for work done for UGT. Sánchez denied the accusations and formally requested a rectification on July 11, but the portal did not publish his version within the legal deadline.
The ultra Vito Quiles already has two lawsuits filed by Sánchez for having refused to comply with his right of rectification and another for having violated his right to honor. The legal actions have been directed against its owner because the company 'Combativos SL' does not actually exist.
The ultra's 'modus operandi'
The strategy of ultra Vito Quiles to evade judicial notifications is reflected in a new document to which 'ElConstitucional.es' has had access. A judicial official went on June 26 to the EDATV facilities, the media outlet of Javier Negre and the second address provided by Quiles himself, to deliver a notification. As he was not there, his colleagues contacted him by phone to inform him of the official's presence. It was then that, according to the document, Quiles gave the order "not to collect anything from him", thus preventing the documentation from being delivered.
The episode is recorded in a return document of the rogatory letter sent to the court that is trying to deliver the documentation to Quiles. The official recorded that, at the address provided, the EDATV entity was located, although the interested party was not physically on the premises at that time. Co-workers contacted him by phone and, according to the document, Quiles instructed them not to receive the documentation.
The literal text of the judicial document states: "This address corresponds to the EDATV office. The staff found there calls the interested party at that moment, who gives the instruction not to collect anything from him".
A recurring behavior
It is common for the ultra to carry out this procedure to evade notifications. In this regard, in March 2025, as reported by 'ElPlural', the Common Service of Communication Acts of the Administration of Justice informed a court of first instance that it had not been able to notify him of a lawsuit for an alleged illegitimate interference with the right to honor.
According to the media outlet, the judicial body had made "several attempts" to communicate the lawsuit to him, with "negative" results, after the agitator failed to receive the documentation, alluding to the same practice: demanding that his colleagues not receive the documentation.
The procedure for the alleged fraud in the toy campaign
Aside from these notifications and the procedures to which they correspond, Vito Quiles also faces a new judicial investigation following a complaint filed by FACUA on July 20 for the fundraising and toy collection campaign aimed at those affected by the DANA in Valencia.
The organization reported that Quiles used the same personal bank account, in which he was already receiving money for other purposes, to receive contributions, without establishing a specific concept that would allow differentiating the amounts destined for the solidarity campaign. The Prosecutor's Office considers that this system could have misled donors, by not allowing a clear determination of how much money was raised for the affected parties, what part was actually used for the purchase of toys, or if any amount remained at the agitator's disposal.
The Public Prosecutor's Office sees indications of a possible fraud crime and has transferred the proceedings to the Instruction Section of the Court of First Instance of Seville. This is, according to the information provided, the tenth criminal proceeding in which Quiles is involved.
One of the main elements used by the agitator to defend the management of the campaign has been the truck loaded with about a ton of toys that he publicly displayed. However, Rubén Sánchez, general secretary of FACUA, explained on TVE's 'Malas Lenguas' that hundreds of those toys came directly from Valencian families who handed them over during the in-person collection campaign.
